Indigirka - a wood-burning electric generator or a new Russian stove

Overview of the Indigirka solid fuel heating and cooking stove, developed by the Russian company Thermofor.

IndigirkaHow often do you use electricity? I agree, the question is somewhat strange for a modern person, and one would expect a completely logical answer - constantly, but still wrapping his house in wire meters, not everyone thinks about various alternative sources of electricity. One of such sources under the name "indigirka" will be discussed.

The company "Thermofor" in cooperation with the St. Petersburg company "Crioterm" decided to combine thermal power generator with a long burning stove, having received solid fuel heating stoveand thereby giving people the opportunity to reduce their dependence on standard wiring. Read about how thermal generators are arranged and work here: Thermogenerators: how to “weld” electricity on a gas stove.

The Indigirka furnace is the only solid fuel heating and cooking stove in the world that is capable of generating electricity during operation! This portable device only needs two pine chocks to not only cook the soup, but also charge almost all home electronic equipment! By the way, Japanese businessmen were already very seriously interested in the Indigirka stove.

But still, if you think about it, then this stove will be of little interest to a sophisticated city dweller, because such a thing in an apartment will look rather strange, it can only be useful for long trips, and is more likely focused on residents of villages and towns, as well as people of many professions requiring a portable source of electricity.

Let’s take a closer look at this unit and its technical characteristics.

The furnace is 650 mm high, 540 mm wide and 430 mm deep, when heating produces a direct current of 12 volts. Power is at least 50 watts, which is enough for most electrical appliances.

The all-welded design of the Indigirka furnace with a stainless steel firebox contributes to safe operation. A chimney with a diameter of 80 mm, next to it is a hob, one of the methods of application of which is, of course, cooking.

In front is the firebox door with a handle and a window, the opening diameter is 178 mm. Of the fuel, hardwood and brown coal are predominantly used, coal is prohibited to be used.

Below the door of the furnace there is a drawer ash drawer used to clean the furnace, and a gate used to control the intensity of combustion. Even lower is the chassis with a control unit, connectors for electrical appliances are derived from it. On the side are two thermoelectric generators. The limit of the heated room is 50 cubic meters. m, thermal power is 4 kW. Complete with the "indigirka" also go 9 chimney pipes. The weight of the Indigirka heating and cooking stove is 54 kg, which is not surprising, since it is not a plastic toy.

So we went through superficially on technical characteristics, it should also be understood that despite the rather specific terms and purposes (given in the instructions that came with the oven), using the “indigira” is quite simple and convenient, to say nothing of the benefits. Undoubtedly this stove is suitable for those who are too attached to suburban life and want to be sure that once a discharged mobile phone will not catch him by surprise!

The price of the Indigirka heating and cooking stove is about 50,000 tons, depending on the store.

Good thing, but a little expensive. It would be nice to be able to buy separately the entire electrical part. That is the stove.
