Proper use of putty fugenfueller

Proper use of putty fugenfuellerEveryone knows that the fugenfueller is ideal for leveling walls, sealing joints of drywall sheets, filling various cracks and grooves in the walls, as well as sealing strobe when laying hidden electrical wiring.

Everyone knows that the surface of the walls before puttying must be cleaned of dust. But there are at least two mistakes that even experienced professionals make when using this wonderful material.

The first mistake is made when sealing large grooves and strobes with electric cableshaving a depth of 15-25 millimeters. Trying to save time, they close the stroba immediately to “zero”, filling the entire volume of the cable groove. When dried, the fugenfueller increases its volume and along the strobes there appears a tubercle 2-3 mm high, which is already very problematic to clear in a day.

Since this putty material has a high hardness. It is necessary to fill the groove by 85-90 percent, allow the putty to dry and only then level the wall.

The second error occurs again when closing large grooves. Fugenfüller is a type of gypsum putty and has a relatively short hardening time. And, as a rule, within a day, it allows the application of a finishing putty on it.

But if deep grooves were simultaneously sealed on the leveling wall, the required drying time before applying the putty should be increased to at least three days. Otherwise, cracks in place of the strob cannot be avoided.

The reason is the complete drying of the finishing putty, under which the fugenfühler has not yet completely dried. In this case, even small linear expansion of the layer continues to solidify the fugenfueller can lead to cracks.

And it’s good if they didn’t have time to paint the wall, or paste wallpaper on it. But the danger in this situation, as a rule, lies in wait only for thin paper wallpapers. Thick, such as non-woven wallpaper, can withstand small cracks.

Another remark about wallpaper. Here, too, sometimes an error is made when using a fugenfueller. But it is allowed only by completely inexperienced craftsmen with golden hands. It is with the gold ones, since few dare to putty their apartment themselves without having any professional experience in construction.

Some people try to stick wallpaper directly on the fugenfueller. And the wallpaper safely departs from the walls. Fugenfueller - putty for leveling the walls! And on top of it you need to apply a layer of finishing putty.

I am not writing here about how to properly prepare the putty for work - this is sufficiently written in the instructions. And here I am only summarizing my experience when using this material.

I believe that to close the strobes - this is not the task of an electrician. In the worst case, the preliminary alabaster shuttering “minus”, and “for finality” should be putty by competent specialists who will do the final shutdown of the room. Here are the cards in their hands, specialists. But I, as an electrician, make the planting of saplings in hollowed out nests, fixing the wires in the gates with the help of "Christmas trees", and local greasing with alabaster in some places where it protrudes. However, I have been working with many of the same brigades for many years, and everyone is happy, they worked together.Matter of habit.

asgarot, if we are talking about the implementation of electrical work at facilities by special organizations, where other specialists work in addition to the electrician, then I agree with you. Each employee focuses on the work in which he specializes.

But for an electrician who performs electrical work independently, this information is relevant. If a person wants to replace the wiring in the apartment, then he will give preference to the specialist who will perform the work qualitatively, and after it there will be no need to hire a plasterer. I think every experienced electrician has practical skills in working with finishing materials.

It is necessary to replace the wiring line - the electrician smashed the wall, replaced the wiring line, plastered the wall. And the electrician who can not cover up three meters of the strobe is unlikely to be popular.
